Donate Uniforms to Orphans
November 8, 2011
The Strikers are pleased to announce their affiliation with EmIlia Neudorff and SoccerOne in their endeavor to provide uniforms to aspiring athletes in the developing world . In some extremes, these young footballers dye rags with mud and stitch them together to form pseudo-uniforms. Children in Tanzania, Haiti and Mexico yearn to play the world’s sport, but have no access to traditional equipment – we hope to help them, one team at a time.
Emilia and SoccerOne collect surplus team uniforms and seconds all year round and then deliver them to orphanages around the world. Emilia states, “Often times, the children who receive the gear don’t even have proper clothing and shoes to begin with. I have returned a year later to see the kids wearing their cleats as shoes because they don’t have anything else to wear.”
Earlier this month, the Strikers donated all of their 2011 game shorts to Emilia’s effort. SavageUltimate (the Strikers’ uniform supplier) has also generously agreed to donate the seconds that occur during the manufacturing process. GM Rebecca Neuren states, “Every little bit makes a huge difference to these kids, it is easy to take our relatively plentiful lives for granted.”
The Strikers strongly recommend it as a way to inspire soccer fans around the world!
